The Seat Is Dirty, But The Cup Holder! Yikes!
Often times when I hit the movies, I’ll put my phone in the cup holder…not anymore!
In a recent investigation into the microbial landscapes of movie theaters, researchers pinpointed the principal breeding grounds for bacteria. Astonishingly, the average theater seat harbors a staggering 1,864 colonies of bacteria! That’s 14 times higher than bacteria found on an ordinary toilet seat—known for its surprisingly decent cleanliness.
Surpassing even the seat’s bacterial load in repulsiveness, the study discovered that cup holders within the theaters hosted an average of 2,396 bacterial colonies, a shocking 18 times more than what typically lingers on a toilet seat.
Fortunately, the majority of the identified bacteria proved to be relatively harmless, lacking the potency to induce widespread illness.
