Names Going Extinct In 2024

BabyCenter.com posted a list of “normal” names that are becoming way less common. By “normal” names, we are talking about names that you could say in a room of 100 people and 25% of them probably have the same name.

Let’s be honest, baby name trends ebb and flow- lately it’s been who can have the most unique name that doesn’t sound like a name such as Kim Kardashian’s kids North West- so I am sure these “normal” names will make their way back into popular rotation soon but for now let’s take a look at the list of names possibly going extinct.

P.S. If you have one of these names, this is not a diss by me just a list that was found (no hate mail please!)

1.  Brooke was just the 471st most popular name for girls last year, down around 200 spots from 2022.

2.  Julius, down 189 spots for boys.

3.  McKenzie, down 184.

4.  Johnny, down 150 spots.

5.  Amanda, down 131.

6.  Michelle, down 129.

7.  Diana, down 108 spots.

8.  Bradley, down 104.  That’s after it dropped 77 spots the year before.

9.  Angela, down 94 spots in the rankings.

10.  Norah, down 91 spots in 2023.
