Too Early for Halloween Decorations?

If you’ve already got a 12-foot skeleton looming in your yard, just know—your neighbors might be silently judging you.
So, is late September too early to deck out your house for Halloween? According to a recent poll of more than 5,000 Americans, most people think so. About two-thirds said decorations shouldn’t go up until at least October 1st.
Breaking it down:
- 39% said October 1st to 15th is the earliest you should decorate.
- 15% think it’s okay between October 16th and 30th.
- 3% say not until Halloween itself—October 31st.
- And a grumpy 4% wish Halloween decorations never went up at all.
But if your porch is already swarming with fake cobwebs, don’t stress too much. Around 30% think it’s totally fine, and 6% say put them up whenever—it’s your yard, after all!
Just remember to take them down. About 75% of people agree they should be gone by the end of November at the latest.
