“Holiday Pops – Home For The Holidays

What can be better than coming home for the holidays? Experience the warmth of the season with your hometown symphony as we deck the halls at Central Park’s Lifepoint Auditorium!
With special guests the Virginia Children’s Chorus from Norfolk, guitar soloist Bruce Middle, pianist James Pitts, and a visit from the man in the red cap, this will be an unforgettable evening. Says Maestro Bartram: “This may be our very best holiday show ever. I can’t wait for December 15th!”
The FSO will open with “A Christmas Scherzo,” written for the Boston Pops orchestra, and will then perform our title song, “Home for the Holidays”–arranged especially for the FSO. The Virginia Children’s Chorus will get in the action with some jazzy holiday standards and will then sing “Somewhere in My Memory” from Home Alone. The first half will conclude with Fredericksburg native Bruce Middle demonstrating his virtuosic skill on electric guitar with Matt Riley’s new arrangement of “O Come, O Come Emanuel.”
If you have ever been to Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular, you’ll recognize the iconic Parade of the Wooden Soldiers. There will be merriment and pranks, a tribute to the festive sounds of Hanukkah, and our traditional sing-alongs. But you won’t soon forget the inspirational finale!
