10 Horror Movies You NEED To Watch Before Halloween

Who’s ready to get scared?! I know I am… Look,  Halloween is supposed to be the time to get scared and watch all the horror movies out there while it is dark and cold outside. You all know I love my horror movies, from the cheesiness of the original “Halloween” movie to creepy children in the movie “Children of the Corn”. They are all in good fun and really get the adrenaline going. Honestly, you could probably burn off just as many calories from being scared of horror movies as you would exercising!

WARNING: If you jump at every sound and are prone to nightmares after horror movies, this may not be for you (and definitely not for kids!).

As you check out my list below, you will notice I am a HUGE Stephen King fan and I am more into psychological thrillers rather than blood, guts and gore but don’t worry there are a few of those classic movies too!

Grab the popcorn, grab your blanket to cover your eyes if need be and get ready to get scared! Make sure to let me know what some of your favorite horror movies are because I am on the hunt for the scariest movie out there (and if you know me, you know it takes a lot to scare me).

  1. “Halloween” (1978)
  2. “Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984)
  3. “Children of the Corn”(1984)
  4. “Pet Sematary” (2019 version, NOT the original!)
  5. “The Conjuring” (2013)
  6. “Friday the 13th” (1980)
  7. “Us” (The ONLY movie I will not watch alone! And that’s saying something… 2019)
  8. “Rose Red” (2002)
  9. “Amityville Horror” (1979)
  10. “Orphan: First Kill” (2022)
