Dr Pepper Day

Today, October 24th is declared Dr Pepper Day.

Here’s some history I found out about the delicious drink.

Did you know that Dr Pepper is the oldest major soft drink brand in the U.S.?  It was created by a pharmacist and first sold in 1885 at a drug store in Waco, Texas.  It was introduced at the St. Louis World’s Far in 1904.

Back in 1927 Dr Pepper’s marketing campaign suggested enjoying the beverage at 10, 2 and 4 each day to keep your energy up.

The 23 on the can is for the 23 flavors that’s in Dr Pepper.  Some of those flavors are cherry, licorice, nutmeg, caramel, juniper molasses, ginger, apricot and more.

Now here’s an important question.  Do you say soda or pop?

Fun fact about me and Dr Pepper.  When I was in the 6th grade, we all had an assignment to write to a company.  I wrote to Dr Pepper.  They sent me a box full of goodies.  Stickers, notebooks, pens, and some books on the history of Dr Pepper and how it was made etc.  It was awesome!  I still have stickers somewhere in my house.
