The concept is Buy a Meal, Give a Meal. They have helped serve over 44,000 meals to families in our community. 2/19/2023 This week Sarah Otto, President & Co-Founder of Ohana Homefront Foundation, joined the show. This week’s show was on a more serious note. The suicide epidemic within our military community. Sarah discussed stats of military and military family suicide, The Brandon Act, and how this foundation is working toward an accreditation for a virtual crisis center. OHF’s mission is to end suicide within the military community as a whole, not just those in uniform. 2/26/2023 This week I had the honor of meeting Dr. Patrick Neustatter of The Llyod Moss Clinic & Coordinator of the COPE program, NaNa Noi. These two were very informative and FULL of STROKE education. Did you know it’s the 3rd leading cause of death in the US? 3/19/ 2023 This week we welcomed Sarah Beth Ridriguez from Cooking Autism! This is an incredible resource for families that go thru daily life with disabilities. They started out in 9 schools and are now in 45+! They offer scholarships, partner with many other local non profits, and have fun fundraising events all year! Founder and CEO retired Marine Captain Jason Haag & Marine Corporal Chris Bowers give a heartfelt interview about the beloved Axel.
Axel’s Place is founded after Jason’s service dog and Best Friend that he says “Saved him”. They have given this community such an asset for recovering disabled vets to gain access to obtain a service dog.
